BORDERS BILL: PROTECTION NOT PUNISHMENT

This Government promised to 'restore order' to the UK’s asylum system, but their new plans undermine the rights we ALL HAVE to seek safety. These policies use refugees and migrants as scapegoats for other problems this country faces - but we know it won't work.

One Strong Voice, the UK’s first coalition of campaigners who have experienced the system ourselves, are calling on this Government to make two big changes:

1. Don’t criminalise people for the routes they take to reach safety and allow EVERYONE fleeing war, torture and persecution to access security

2. Reverse the cruel citizenship ban, allowing all refugees to find their way to be British citizens so they can rebuild their lives & fully heal from their trauma
